Having a mental health ministry is important in your church is essential. 1 in 4 people in the U.S. struggles with a mental illness and 70% of the people who seek out a counselor go to the church to ask for help before going seeking out a professional counselor. Most of these churches are not equipped to handle this. Why would the church send someone to a secular institution when they could offer the solution? Christians are Christ’s ambassadors.
